Dr. Brian Johnston is an academic in University of Wolverhampton. He holds a PhD in Biotechnology and sustainability which he earned in 2020. During his PhD, he focused on the development of innovative methods to recycle a variety of waste plastic carbonsources for the biological synthesis of bioplastics. Dr. Johnston has lectured on topicssuch as Bioremediation, Recycling and Chemical Characterisation, using NMR, GPCand ES-MS methods. Some of the bioplastic materials that resulted from his researchhave been used for 3D printing, and other sectors, including agriculture and medicine. Dr. Johnston has authored over 25 publications and received multiple citations in international scientific journals. He has also worked on several post-doctoral placements, with projects supported by both the EU and Midlands Engine. Furthermore, he has established a network of academic and industrial partnerships, including institutions such as SINTEF (Norway) and the Polish Academy of Sciences (PAN) and NERC (National Environmental Research Council).
